Phil Mickelson, in a post on X, responded to a video of Australia Prime Minister Anthony Albanese calling for stricter gun laws in the wake of the shooting, pushing back on the message. 

"The 2 terrorists didn’t seem affected by the strict gun laws already in place. In fact the shooting went on for a long time since there wasn’t anybody else with a gun to stop them. I’m not a big gun guy but even I’m not this dumb to believe what this guy is selling," Mickelson wrote. "Prayers to the victims and their families."

Peter Singer

A family friend, Peter Singer sent me this letter he wrote to Albanese, the Prime Minister of Australia.

Well written and strong!!

Dear Hon Prime Minister,

I am deeply saddened and moved by the unspeakable, hateful terrorist attack at Bondi. This is a tragedy for all Australians and represents the lowest to that which our once great country has sunk (and only in 4 years of this government).

I am attempting to imagine what it might be like to be in your shoes right now and I wanted to see if I could extend some empathy that may influence your thinking going forward.

To date, your leadership has

- Turned Australia into a land of weekly, hateful demonstrations;

- Drawn world leaders’ criticism about Australia’s rising anti-semitism;

- Made Australia a joke among international actors, with a recognition of Palestine;

- Broken a close, most multi-faceted beneficial 80 year relationship with Israel;

- Ignored shutting down Islamist hatred in mosques and granting them millions;

- Begrudgingly attended other acts of unprecedented vandalism, as a low priority;

- Sat idly while universities – our sources of enlightenment – are pits of hatred; and

- Dismissed Gilian Segal’s findings until the islamophobia report is released, as if there is any parallel or connection – such questionable judgement

I imagine you must be considering that Australia possibly needs a leader today and that you are not the person able to fulfil that role.

That would be a valid assessment Prime Minister. I trust that you will step out from the political mindset, be a human and resign.

Australia needs you now, more than ever, to take that critical step and leave office. And you must execute Burke and Wong’s termination, immediately.

This will be but one step to help regain a level of dignity and change your legacy as the first Australian PM who made the most significant, poor decisions for our nation.

Albanese must be prosecuted for deaths of 15 Jews.

Based on his previous history as shown on YouTube this week Albanese has deliberately pursued a course guaranteed to make the life of Jews in Australia precarious.

He must be detained to prevent him leaving the country.

He will be found guilty and hence cannot retain his current job.
