1967 Sydney
The longest time I spent anywhere on my trip to the Eastern States in 1966 was in Sydney because the car needed help.
My Mini got to Sydney on three cylinders as it had overheated before Melbourne. It meant a longer stay in Sydney and a job finding an open workshop as it was just after New Year.
A visit to Sydney must include at least one ferry trip and being on the slower version I saw the Hydrofoil Ferry in action as it zoomed past.
The Opera House was still being built as you can see from the photos taken from various locations.
Everyone is familiar with the Bridge.
Circular Quay is where the ferries leave from.
A ship is leaving Sydney and passing through The Heads. I went over to the north side to take this.
St Mary's Cathedral is an imposing sight.
The last two are of the War Memorial.
I wrote a diary during my tour and I still have it. I read it just the other day and one day it might make it to these pages.
